Always in carry-on: iPad, good book, cashmere socks, Montblanc pen, and sketch book. I don't like to be bored.

Drive or be driven? I like to be driven so I can see where I am.

Travel hero: I had an aunt that traveled all over the world when I was growing up. I thought she was so glamorous and worldly.

Best hotel amenity: Soft pillows.

I dream about my meal at: Catherine's Café in Antigua.

Everywhere I go, I check out the vintage stores, local markets, coffee shops, and bars with a view.

When I arrive in a new place, I learn the lay of the land by studying a map and taking a walk.

I always bring home Yorkshire tea, chocolate biscuits, Nurofen, Marmite (from England); shells, feathers, vintage finds, and a lot of photos (from exotic locales).

If I never return to Charles de Gaulle Airport it'll be too soon because I've never known it to take so long to retrieve my luggage.

I travel for the love of it!
