Way to Go

Welcome to Way to Go

Hello, fellow travelers! So nice to have you with us in the new year.

We are psyched to tell you about big changes to the Fathom newsletter. For a while now, we’ve been craving a more personal touch to what we do. To make our newsletters more about telling stories and sharing advice and less about promoting “the content.” We’re calling this new newsletter Way to Go. Here’s what you can expect:

Format

Instead of simply linking to articles on the Fathom website (which we will continue to update), we’ll write our insights and recommendations directly in the newsletters.

Some newsletters will be destination guides, packed with info on our favorite hotels, sites, fixers, restaurants, experiences, shops…the works! We’ll make sure to keep these edited, so that they don’t feel overwhelming (or like homework).

Some will include expert advice, how-tos, and hacks. How to travel with kids, plan a ski trip, rent a European villa, pick a safari…that kind of thing.

Others will be a miscellany — ideas, destinations, products, collaborations — of things that are piquing our interest.

We’re also introducing a new advice column, Ask the Travel Shrink, which will solve your burning travel dilemmas. (Send them to us at travelshrink@fathomaway.com!)

Frequency

We’ll send Way to Go once per week on Thursdays. Sometimes we'll send bonus emails on Tuesdays.

Fee

There will be two versions of the newsletter: free and paid. All Fathom subscribers were automatically subscribed to the free version. Of course we would (ahem) like everyone to upgrade to the paid version to get the benefit of all the rich and wonderful work we’re creating.

To give you a sense of what it's all about, we published the first month of newsletters without a paywall:

2024 Hot Hotel Preview
It's big and bold. Buckle up!

Ski Diamonds
Epic ski secrets and slopeside intel from the Rockies, including an under-the-radar spot for beginners and Colorado’s most challenging in-bounds hike.

Istanbul the Magnificent
More than the basics for a first-time visit, including excellent fixers and the only local guide you need to hire.

Getting Hot + Heavy
Escapist fantasies at the beach, a romantic (mostly) Manhattan jaunt, and some favorite spa retreats.

You can always reach us at higuys@fathomaway.com with questions or comments.

Thanks for reading and for being part of the Fathom community. We’re excited — and grateful — you came along for the ride!

Happy travels,
Jeralyn + Pavia

We make every effort to ensure the information in our articles is accurate at the time of publication. But the world moves fast, and even we double-check important details before hitting the road.
